I am so pleased that Tailfin are continuing to support me through 2024 and Ive got some epic rides planned where their brilliant equipment will really help make my riding that much simpler, stable and more organised.
Originally Tailfin (the market leaders for technical bikepacking equipment) came onboard to support me for my epic Stalag IVB solo ride across England, France and Germany in 2022.
Since then, my activities have grown from mainly Road riding to Gravel, MTB and long distance events including attempting the Atlas Mountain Race last year.
With 3 bikes all used for different sorts of rides, it soon became clear that on any ride I like riding with a certain amount of ‘stuff’ be it spare jackets, gloves, gilets, tools, food etc and to honest I hate riding with my back jacket pockets stuffed to the brim.
The main new addition is having Tailfin ‘mounting axles’ fitted to all three of my bikes which means I can change the rear ‘RACK’ within seconds which gives me the option to fit any combination of Top Trunk Bag and/or 10 and 22 litre panniers. This really is a game changer if you have more than one bike. DETAILS
Another fantastic bit of kit I now use on almost every ride is the 1.5litre ‘Flip’ Top Tube Bag which is incredibly handy, spacious and so easy to access with its ‘flip top’. (Zipped versions also available).
Im planning an EPIC adventure for later on in the year (I will let you know shortly) and there is one bit of Tailfin kit that is going through final testing and design that I am looking forward to getting my hands on, and I will keep you informed on what that is once they set a product launch date.
Tailfin really do engineer their equipment well. But its not just well made, its well designed with input and feedback and rigorous on-event testing from some of the top riders in the world.
They are continually devoloping and expanding their range if a bikepacking issue requires a reliable solution, and their latest release is a fantastic ‘FORK PACK’ quick release front pannier mount and bag system for Gravel Forks with mount holes. I am just so happy to have Tailfin onboard as one of my supporters and if you want any advice at all about their products, Im happy to give you my personal view from my experience.
In the meantime …. Ive got to push myself to the limit to try and complete the ATLAS MOUNTAIN RACE which starts from Marrakech on Friday 9th Feb … Im hopefully more prepared that I was last year, which certainly was an eye opener, but one thing is for sure … my Bikepacking Kit is the best available and that wont let me down.
