Route Maps

The route is approximately 1800 miles, starting from the end of the old runway at RAF Harwell – where Dad took off from- to Berlin where I fly home from.

The Route takes in many historical sites that are either general to  D-Day or the War in general and many specific to just my Dad’s exploits.

I will be visiting Langeais where there is an original ‘Box Car’ railway carriage the same as Dad was transported in.

In Germany, although nothing to do with my Dad, as his train by-passed it, out of respect, I will be visiting the Buchenwald Concentration Camp, before I see Colditz and eventually Stalag IVB

Above is the overview off the whole route I will be Cycling, and below are the individual daily routes I will be following.

You will see some days I have split into 2 separate routes.

This was all planned using KOMOOT and I will be able to navigate turn by turn on my Wahoo Cycling Computer which acts like a mini Sat Nav and also records my exact journey.
