PACKING FOR THE ATLAS MOUNTAIN RACE – PART 2
Following on from my previous article about What and Why I am taking specific items,
I now enclose a comprehensive list with specific details of my exact contents and the spec of my bike and equipment.

You will see from the photos that there has been an awful lot of thought and deliberation into just what to take, trying to ensure I have just what I need, but also trying to keep the weight down and remain safe.
You will also see that its amazing how I’ve managed to get it all packed up into just 10.55kg total including the bags and that with the mods on the bike gives me a total rolling weight of 22.60kg (without Water)

BIKE LUGGAGE
As I said previously in my previous Packing Post … carrying equipment is an art, but an art that Tailfin have honed to a tee.
Last year I did not have the front roll, but had a bigger rear bag, but my issue was simply taking too much equipment and jamming it into the bags which made it difficult to access and to re-pack.
This year, because I have been much more careful on my equipment choice and quantity, I’ve been able to reduce what I am taking and become more efficient. Having a front roll bag will balancer the bike more and I chose to use a small 5 Litre Frame Pack strapped to my Tailfin Rack rather than the 20 L Top Trunk, simply because I did not need the extra capacity.
Basically all the planning and equipment is nothing unless you can carry it efficiently and safely.
